add Is my Glide inflatable PFD ready to use?

The Glide waistbelt PFD is packaged with a CO₂ cannister separately, to help with shipping and postage. The new cannister must be fitted to the valve to arm the PFD before it is ready to use. Please refer to the instruction booklet which came attached to your PFD, also available as a PDF in the resources tab on this product page.

add I've have not used my Glide inflatable PFD for a long time will it still work?

We recommend that in addition to your regular pre-session check that you activate an inflation canister about every two years – to reassure yourself of the operation of the valve and canister and also remain familiar with its use.

add Can I fly with my Glide inflatable PFD?

You cannot fly with your inflatable PFD while it has a gas cylinder inserted in the valve. To remove a gas cylinder, pull the release toggle to inflate the PFD, then, when the air bladder is full, you can unscrew the cylinder. Your airline may allow you to travel with 24 gram CO₂ canisters to replenish your inflatable PFD after flying, ask your airline how to check them in with your luggage and pack them separately from your PFD.
